This website is meant to be a depository of FACTS submitted by its members and any well-meaning person named or anonymous. The only requirement is that FACTS are backed up by actual referenced governing documents

AFFILIATE vs ASSOCIATE AFFILIATE

Leagues are Associate Affiliates with only 1 vote (per league)
Clubs are Full Affiliates with 1 vote per 15 registered players
Leagues DO NOT REPRESENT CLUBS in front of FYSA
Leagues DO NOT CREATE CHAMPIONS - Individual Coaches and Clubs do
League's purpose is to create schedules and assist Clubs playing those games
Leagues should not be allowed to hijack Clubs' only chance to voice their opinions at an annual AGM
Currently, some Leagues have too much influence on the FYSA Board

(There are many leagues in the State that do a great job, I serve on some of the Boards. The best leagues make schedules, provide support and get out of the way. If you League tells you at every meeting that they are there to do what you want and then do just the opposite, beware. And finally, if you serve on the League Board and keep getting re-elected, don't think for a second that since no one wants your "job" you are doing everything perfectly, and should keep on the same course, sometimes membership just gets tired of asking for same things over and over again. If you don't know what I'm going on about you must be from a different part of the State, sorry.)

TRANSPARENCY

After years of asking of FYSA to record and/or live stream their meetings, COVID-19 finally made them do it. BUT - only if you watch them live or within 14 days. The Board decided that their work is so noble they should delete the videos as soon as possible instead of allowing members to see how the sausages are made.

FACT - it is illegal for us to post downloaded YouTube videos after they are deleted, so either watch them immediately or elect Board members that are proud of their work and have nothing to hide and let's change this rule at next AGM.

INFORMATION IS POWER

New FYSA Website is great, but in the process of migrating, we lost ALL historical data that was on the old website and should be made available to Membership in perpetuity.

FYSA staff, please find our old document section and bring those documents back, and if you need help pruning or storing them, just say so. If you are not allowed to do so by Board or executive staff please say something.

UPDATE: Thank you Joel for offering to bring these docs back, I'll gladly store them and even purge any obsolete no longer relevant, expired rules. Thanks.

UPDATE/UPDATE: Still no documents 2 years after being promised they would be found! Joel?
